IS IT A EVOLUTION OR A DESTRUCTION ?

Do you sometimes think that you are living in a new world? Internet didn't exist twenty years ago and now we need to plug in it. My parents aren't becoming familiar with Internet and their uses because they didn't born in this computing environment. Nowadays, children born with electronics under the arm which would never have thought that would happen. Given the quickly evolution and globalization, do you not fear envision how might be the world in twenty years?

I imagine Earth in twenty years getting along with robots, telegrams and electronics stuffs, due to the electronics right now help us to live better and they provide our existence. I'm scared because Internet  pop up and revolution everything. Everybody in this world are plug in it and lost everybody are addicted to it, and the fact is that many deny it, but they are actually addicted. 

Might be that in the future the divergence of communities, races and countries will be able it  become a single community due to globalization that Internet caused. I believe that in twenty years Earth might be divided in two sections. Once will be the rich which have luxuries in hand and an easy life with technology. The other section will be the people who cannot afford the luxuries or live in a big house or technology because the others will have taken over everything. Moreover, I think rulers will be robots, security guards and police too.

Well, my opinion or  my perception of the future seem a dystopia script. But it is only my perception and it is the way I imagine the future if technology and Internet continue evolve as they have so far. In fact if it won't happen, the factories may destroy ozone layer and will happen something as the extinction of dinosaurs. 

To sum up this post, I' afraid of the technology though it bring me benefits and I like use it. But I really believe that more than an evolution for humanity it is a destruction. So, as for the technology we are taking giant steps and might end terrible. 

INTERNET AND ITS USERS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD FOR THE BETTER

Nowadays, society is dominated by Internet and by the use of social networks which have many registered users. In fact, this dominion in society may be beneficial in some aspects to improve the world. Although, there are points that in my opinion don't favor the world and it's going to got worse everyday. 

Firstly, I think the massive use of social networks and Internet have some benefits. They are useful for research, considering that recently we don't search information on books or on encyclopedias. If we have any doubts about something Internet almost always give us the solution, but nobody guarantee their truth. They also benefit the communication between people who are separated by thousand kilometers, between people who still don't know each other because they established friendship via social networks, or even they might help to perform remote business meetings. Among other things, in a near future they will be able to investigate incurable diseases or carry out news experiments as to create robots persons.

On the other hand, Internet might be dangerous and violent, so if we don't control it the world may end in a complete disaster. Social networks register all the posts, images and videos which people upload or share. This can be seen by anyone because it is on the cloud and is shared by everybody. They are an addiction and if they aren't controlled soon it can cause illness as personality disorders ir Hikikomori syndrome in which the person is locked in his room without knowing anything from outside. For this reason the growth and the evolution of Internet will be dangerous because everybody depends on them and will end up with the real meaning of life. 

Our ancestors lived wonderfully and stupendously without Internet or Social networks. I think if we follow this way we'll be killing the world. In conclusion, the world doesn't change for the better if Internet and social networks evolve at this pace because overtime we move away from the world we live shutting on electronic devices, furthermore we always wake up only to see what news are on these webs. So, if we don't want to end as the most dystopia that were created, we modify out mindset and think about the future. 

FRUIT AND VEG: FOR A LONGER LIFE EAT 10-A-DAY

Everybody knows fruit and vegetables must be our foodstuff to have a complete diet. But, few years ago appeared fast food and food chains of junk food as McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Starbucks, etc. These restaurants make live an unhealthy life because they don't contain enough nutrients but they only contain fats. Besides the mass consumption of these foods causes the increase the health diseases. I read a new which talks about the consumption of fruit and vegetables to avoid heart diseases or strokes.

The article is a compilation of information from a study by Imperial College London. The researchers explain that eat 10 portions of fruit and vegetables a day and have healthy habits prevent prematures deaths which this number have increased during the lasts years. They discovered a list of fruits and vegetables that their eat prevent cancer, heart deseases and strokes, reduce colesterol levels, blood pressure and boost the immune system. For these reasons their consumption is better than don't consume it.

They found green vegetables as spinach, yellow vegetables as banana and cruciferous vegetables as cauliflower decrease the risk of suffer cancer. Furthermore, apples, pears,  citrus fruits, salads, green leafy vegetables as lettuce and cruciferous vegetables decrease the risk of suffer heart disease. The nutritionist and World Health Organization  always recommend eat five fruits or vegetables a day, but in this case the investigate advise we ought to eat it ten in a day.

The article also show two cases of a women who eat eight and nine ten portions a day and they have a health habits which allow their a life without health concerns. She explains that isn't not eat fruit vegetables, although she stir fries and stews. They consider it a lifestyle. 

In my opinion I'm agree with it article, because I eat six or seven times fruits and vegetables a day and it help me to carry out a health lifestyle. In my family I'm the one who eat this amount of vegetables and I could see the difference between my family and I This is the reason why I recommend and I wish talk about the health habits because are very important for life. Food we eat is a reflection of us, so I recommend to follow the advises that investigators say in this article because are important to have a lasting live. 

On the reading of the article I learned some words that help me to improve my english and also my writing. They are boon, stroke, cruciferous vegetables, leafy vegetables, stir and stews.

SELF-EVALUATION OF ORAL PRESENTATION

I recall some posts before I talked about my research project titled Learning Spelling and the presentation of my project to examining board. Besides in English subject we had to present it too, that is why I write this post. The students must record us doing the presentation to our classmates and then evaluate it. 

In the first place I will evaluate the how was the presentation, then got was my body language and eye contact.  All together I will evaluate the structure of my presentation, the content and the language I used. Finally I will evaluate the pronunciation and intonation I used during the presentation. All these sections I'll evaluate below I will do it watching the video which you can see it also in this writing. 

When I was talking about my research project I accompany with a new type of powerpoint that I found in net. The powerpoint was focused in my topic where my classmates could see images and the key words of my project to understand it. Moreover, the presentation lasted the adequate time that was laid down between five to ten minutes, anyways I believe it longs nine minutes so I explain it within the set time. 

On the video I could see I was looking all the time to my classmates and even on occasionally I did they participate answering some questions I asked them. However I read the notes twice during the presentation because my mind had gone blank. Despite this defect, I think my body language and eye contact was quite right. 

The structure of the presentation was suitable due to the research project I did before. Firstly I explained the theoretical part and I showed them who I had verified it with my practical part. On the beginning I let know them which was my objectives and on the end I told them which was my conclusions. For these reasons my opinion is that the structure and content was the correct once. 

Actually it seems to my that all the presentation was brilliant except for a section which is my weakness. It is the pronunciation and intonation, I really believe I know enough the language because I know who use grammar, my vocabulary is varied and I haven't any problem with the use of connectors or fillers. Although I made some mistakes with grammar because I was so nervous, but it was mistakes which I can resolve without any problem. The issue is I don't speak fluid, it is why I think the words in my native language and then I translate it. It difficult my speaking however my pronunciation is quite good and my tone isn't monotone, that is to say, I change the tone during I was speaking. 

To sum up, it is my self-evaluation of my research project. The topic was easy and I worked with it a lot of time, and as I see my presentation was brilliant except my pronunciation because I was nervous and my tongue get tangled up.

GIRLS LOSE FAITH IN THEIR OWN TALENTS BY THE AGE OF SIX

In this post I want to talk about a new I found in BBC news which is addressed to an investigation from New York University, Princeton University and the University of Illinois.

On this research they discovered that after six years old the girls feel inferior to boys. They blame this happening on media, teachers and parents because they are setting up stereotypes. Furthermore, they verify the results doing different activities to children of different ages. 

Then, the article explain two examples of this activities and the results are expected. The girls of five years old are considered themselves as boys, but, on the other hand the girls of six years old are considered themselves inferior to boys. 

They concluded that children have this feelings and ideology because they are exposed to the cultural notion which is present since Adam and Eva exist. The investigators began the study because they were sawing less number of women in careers which need a innate talent for be brilliant. 

So, they started to investigate and discovered this, the girls don't develop this talent because from they are young they feel lower. They suggested that teachers and parents have to make aware to students to work hard because this is the key for succeed. If it is carry out the different gender feelings developed by stereotypes will disappear. 

Finally, I want to comment my opinion of this article. I really believe that here in Spain or also in Catalonia don't happen because women are in the same conditions as men. But it is true that many women feel protected when we have a men near, in this situation it proves the act which these universities investigated. I think women have to be more strong and realize we are better or we are just the same as men. 

When I was reading the article I came up against some words that I didn't know the meaning. This are initially, empower, slightly and uphill. 

BEAUTY DIALOGUE

Beauty is an abstract concept, I commented it on others post of my blog,  and we had addressed the last month of the first term and the beginning of the second term talking about it in class. As a final activity in this project we had to write a dialogue related with beauty and then record it.

This activity was done the week before christmas holidays for this reason we made it without effort. I'm not happy with the final result but it was a team work and the rest members of my group didn't want to improve it. We tried to realize our best in this dialogue but obviously not always we get the expected result. 

So, here you can read the dialogue while you are listening the conversation. 

DIALOGUE

Scenario: A mother and a daughter in a surgery appointment in London.

Characters: Dr. Yassin, Ariadna and Judith.

Dr.Yassin: Well, why are you here? What do you want of me? Tell me.

Judith: Actually my daughter doesn´t know why we are here. My baby, you are completely different to your friends and I really believe that you must change to be beautiful.

Dr.Yassin: Ok!! Great idea. In my opinion she will be perfect if I match her porpotions of the nose and I quit the fat of her jowl. Or if you prefer you can show me a photo of them and I will do my best, so that you look like them.

Ariadna: What?? Are you mod? Come on mom, don´t be dumb!!

Judith: Sssh!! Shut your mouth! This is an adult conversation. Did someone tell you to speak?

Ariadna: It´s my body, It´s my face, you can´t take a decision as that for me.

Dr. Yassin: Yes, she can. She is your mother and lawfully she has power over you.

Ariadna: Both of you are superficial!! It´s illogical. Mom, he only wants our cash.

Judith: Darling, I’m tired of seeing that your friends and people laugh at your apperance.

Dr. Yassin: For this reason, I would like to help you, I would see you pretty and amazed.

Ariadna: But I will not happy if you change the way I’m.

Judith: Doctor, doesn’t listen to her. Today she isn’t receptive, is she?

Dr.Yassin: No, she isn’t.

Judith: So, when can we schedule the operation?

Ariadna: I will do it if you also carry out a plastic surgery.

Dr. Yassin: Yes, of course. I can apply a discount. Right now we have a family pack.

Ariadna: That’s geat! Mom, you agree, don’t you?

Judith: No, I’m perfect! I don’t need any surgery.

Dr.Yassin: But Madam, do you have a husband?

Ariadna: No, she hasn’t doctor. She is as lonely as tits without nipples.

Dr.Yassin: Aren’t you interested in finding your charming prince?

Judith: Ok. So, what’s the offer?

Ariadna: Doctor, we will do it. 

Dr. Yassin: Great !!

CASTELLÓ D'EMPÚRIES

Have you ever stopped to think if you despide your town ? Well, I've done it often and these last days I went over the town for appreciate the magnificient town where I live. My village is called Castelló d'Empúries, it belongs to Spain in the autonomus community of Catalonia, in the province of Girona. 

The counts of Empúries move to Castelló d'Empúries form Sant Martí d'Empúries on the 11th century because pirates often attacked them there and they wanted to change the localitation of their country. So, Castelló became the capital of the country d'Empúries during centuries. 

For this time, the medieval times Castelló mainly lived by commercial sector, craftwork and administration of the Counts. The village began to increase and the town had to expand. On the 18tn, 19th and 20th centuries Castelló lived by agriculture and cattle industry. Finally during the 20th century Castelló underwent a major transformation because built Empuriabrava, a residential marina, which develop tourism. 

These days that I was investigating the town I found some monuments that I didn't know what was their origin or monumnets that I didn't know that their exist. This monuments are: 

A Carline tower: Was built for protect the town from carlines during the second half of the 19th century. The November of 1784 the carlines won a battle called The Fire of Castelló which caused the ruin because the village was burned. 

The market: It is a 15th gothic building. Some authors said that it are remains of a market which complemented the central one, and other authors said that it are remains of the major hospital of Castelló founded in 1252.

Basilica Maria del Mar: It is a gothic church located in the ancient city center. The church that we see today is a building constructed avobe a romanic church. 

This three monumnets are the once that I like most. But there are more monuments in my town that are awesome, so I invite you to come and visit my medieval town.
